Recycling & Rubbish

Teylu Cottage is very keen to recycle

In the shed you will find the recycling bags for most usual household recycling.  (cardboard, glass, plastic, paper etc).  The bags are all labelled.

Next to the shed is the black “seagull-proof”  bin bag – that needs to “go out” on a Sunday night.  We ask that whilst you are staying with us that you assist with this.

On Sunday evening if you can take the seagull-proof bag (with all your rubbish bags within) and leave it on Chapel Ground – just to the right (uphill) of the gate to Park Terrace.  The council will empty this on Monday morning.  I’ve added a red parachord strap and a carabiner to the bag so it can be clipped round the handrail on the side of the terrace – to stop it blowing away.

Once this has been done, we ask that you return it to the side of the shed.

West Looe is not well equipped with recycling areas.  The only recycling bins I know of are in the Mill Pool Car Park.

I tend to take paper, glass and plastic with me when I’m heading in the direction of the car park (or the bridge) and pop it in the bins there to save it building up for Sunday night.  (Doing that means I only have the one rubbish bin to put out on Sunday evening)

Thanks for your cooperation with this.

I’ve added the Rubbish and recycling calendar here… Teylu Rubbish Collection
