My partner, our two children and I just returned after a wonderful week at this amazing cottage. It was clean, wonderfully decorated and we loved the scones on arrival!

The harbour is literally less than a 5 min walk and the pub is even nearer and they serve great ales and gins. The weather was great which was a bonus and we enjoyed a trip to Polperro and Carlyon Bay in St Austell. If the weather is not great then there is a fantastic childrens centre kidsworld in St Austell that was very good value for money and there is also a kids climbing wall in the Sardine Factory in Looe.

The girls loved getting the boat across the harbour for 50p and crabbing from the dock and the beach was ideal. There are so many places to eat but we ate at The Sardine factory, The Arch, The Catch and you must have the pasties from Sarah’s pasty shop but get there early or pre-order.

You won’t be dissapointed visiting this place and we are eager to return next year. Enjoy!

Carl & Family – Aug 2018

Having never been to Looe before we decided to bring our 8 month old puppy Stanley for his first seaside holiday. On arrival we found the cottage and parking spot easily and on entry to the cottage found a cream tea as a lovely welcome from Richard & Sian. We were amazed at how well equipped and beautifully furnished the cottage was. Literally everything has been thought of even down to Bose Sound System and phone charging adaptors at the side of the beds. The interior, especially white washed floorboards gives a true seaside feel. The garden is a beautiful suntrap with a great view across West Looe. The Teylu website provided us with great advice and guidance for our stay. We visited Polperro, Millendreath Beach and practically every pub in Looe (our excuse is that Stanley insisted on trying them all). The restaurants were also excellent (Smugglers Cott, Old Sail Loft and The Plough on The Quay. Had an absolutely wonderful time and I cannot recommend Teylu Cottage, Looe and Richard & Sian as hosts more thoroughly. Will definitely be back very soon. Thanks for a great long weekend break.

Paul and Julie – May 2018

My wife, my daughter, and I stayed at Teylu Cottage for two weeks at the start of the school summer holidays 2017. We had previously stayed in Cornwall on a number of occasions, and felt Looe to be the ideal place to stay, as it is well situated on the south Cornish coast, with a number of nearby places to visit within easy commute.

The property itself is fantastic.  It has been recently renovated to an extremely high standard, whilst still maintaining the feel of a typical Cornish Fisherman’s home.  It comfortably sleeps 4 people.

Teylu cottage really does have everything you will need, such as a modern gas cooker, dishwashing machine, microwave, fridge, and washing machine.  The kitchen area is well designed and spacious, with a generous amount of cutlery and crockery to use.

Wi-Fi is extremely fast and reliable, and my daughter had no problems catching up with her friends and TV shows via the internet.

A parking space is provided, which is a short walk up West Looe Hill.  The neighbours are really friendly, and having spent a number of years in Looe themselves are particularly knowledgeable about the local area and amenities.

What I found extremely useful, was the tips and tricks website that Richard has set up, with its search facility.  Simply type in a key word such as “oven”, and you are taken to the instructions for using the cooker.

We had a wonderful two weeks, which included visits to Newquay for surfing, Polperro for stunning views, and Bodmin for an evening of murder mystery on a steam train.

We would have no hesitation is recommending this holiday cottage as ideal for anyone looking for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle.

Darren, Sam and Morgan – July 2017

Myself and my Husband stayed at Teylu Cottage at the beginning of June 2017 to celebrate both of our birthdays and our final holiday on our own before our baby girl arrived. I had visited Cornwall a lot as a child so i loved revisiting everywhere. It was the perfect place to sit and relax we often found our self’s just sat in the living room or garden enjoying the piece and quiet. The neighbors were also very friendly. The cottage was decorated beautiful very clean and fresh, The hill to the cottage and the car kept us fit and aloud us to work off all the lovely food we ate in Looe.

We visited a shop called ‘Paint a Pot’ in Looe town, here we painted a huge piggy bank for our little girl. It took a couple of hours and was great fun, the lady was very helpful and we would definitely recommend this for all ages. (it was full of adults, No children when we were there)
We also visited the Eden project and The secret Gardens of Hegelian which were beautiful. Our favorite places to eat were the Smugglers cot, they cooked lovely fish, Also we had the best fish and chips at The Coddy Shack just out side of looe also you must pop into Sarah’s Pasties if you fancy a Cornish pastie.

Thank you for allowing us to visit your lovely Cottage, we will definitely be back when out little one is a few years older.

Charlotte and Dan – June 2017

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May. The cottage itself is so homely and everything is so accessible. It was very clean and comfortable and has everything you need including phone chargers and Wi-Fi.

We walked to East Looe nearly everyday which was only a 10 minute walk, sampled local pasties and had freshly caught fish in the restaurants. There also lovely pubs very close by if you fancy a tipple (or two).

The pork pies in the general store at the bottom of the hill are delicious and definitely worth trying.

If you want somewhere to relax and unwind this is definitely the place. Thank you Sian and Richard!

Becky and Simon – May 2017

We stayed at Teylu over Easter weekend and we had a fantastic time.

The cottage is very well-equipped and extremely clean. It is well-located and there is a great little general stores shop just down the hill.

Taking the ferry across to East Looe is good fun and walking the South coast path is the perfect way to spend a day.

Debbie – April 2017

I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Teylu Cottage. I said to Richard and Sian before I went that I just wanted to just chill and relax.I didn’t expect to chill quite so much and really didn’t want to come home. Teylu Cottage was homely as soon as you walked through the door and it was obvious that Richard and Sian had thought of everything and had paid a lot of attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble. To my surprise there were also fresh scones on the table when I arrived (they didn’t last 5 minutes before I ate them) Teylu is a beautiful place to stay and I can’t wait for my next visit. It was clean and smelt beautiful. Thank you both it really is a beautiful home.

Becca – September 2016

We had a fabulous 4 nights at Teylu Cottage. Having not visited Cornwall for approx. 30 years I can say that Teylu Cottage and Looe were everything I hoped they would be. The cottage is a short, enjoyable walk to the beach and Looe has everything you need and more. Having spent a week in Majorca a short while before our visit I can honestly say this was far more relaxing. Teylu Cottage was so comfortable. Everything was top quality. Next time we stay we can travel far lighter as everything we needed was there. We even managed to log into Amazon video on the t.v. and watch our box sets from home. Our boys loved their cosy room on the top floor and the wifi connection was spot on. It will be hard to stay in a static caravan again! Thanks Richard and Sian

Melanie, Sean, George & Noah – August 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Teylu Cottage, which feels very inviting and homely as soon as you walk through the door. Richard and Sian have thought of everything that you might need to make your stay really comfortable – you don’t even need your phone chargers! Then there’s a constant supply of hot water for showers in the very nice bathroom and not to mention the washing machine and hoover etc., although I would personally recommend that these machines should be avoided whilst on holiday! To summarise, Teylu is a lovely place to stay, when visiting this stunning part of the country and we thoroughly recommend it.

Carole & Paul – August  16

We loved our week at Teylu cottage. The cottage is comfortable, tastefully decorated and very well equipped with everything we could possibly need and extra! We also enjoyed Looe itself with the quay, beach, pasties, local deli and surrounding walks. It’s a great base for exploring further afield too. We really appreciated all the thought that has gone into making it such a lovely place to stay. Thank you for a special week!
